Day 12: Fan Mail

First off, I want to apologize for the lackluster length of this post. I got carried away while sorting through my fan mail and lost track of time. It's a shame too, because I had a great topic ready for today! So instead I'm going to respond to a question that kept coming up in the mail I was reading through. It has been phrased in many ways, but here's the gist of it:

"Why are you ignoring Red?"

It's a fair enough question, after all the only time I have mentioned Taylor Swift's fourth studio album was during my review of her various album covers, and it would have been pretty difficult to get around it then.

To be totally honest, I don't really like Red very much. I will certainly go into it in the future, but I think that many of the songs share a pretty serious tone problem. There is one exception though. A shining star in the rough that takes a bold stance on one of Taylor's lesser known relationships. But I don't want you to be primed by my opinion, so instead I'm just going to link the song and let you develop your own opinion of it. In my view the song is saying is very clear in it's message, but everyone I've spoken to about it has read it very differently from me so I thought it better to play it safe.

We'll talk more about it tomorrow. For now, just ponder what this song could possibly be about.

See you tomorrow,
-C
